Hey, my name is Darina Derzkaya
For the past 18 years, photography has been my way of meeting people, telling their stories, and preserving the moments that matter most. I often describe myself as a photographer for people and about people. Over the years, I have photographed thousands of families, couples, and individuals, and documented more than 750 weddings. What inspires me most are real emotions, genuine connections, and the unique story behind every person I meet.
My journey began in Ukraine and later brought me to Valencia, Spain, where I now live with my family. Alongside photography, I also mentor and educate photographers through workshops and one-on-one training. Today, I photograph weddings, families, and personal stories across Spain and Europe, creating timeless images that help people remember not just how a moment looked, but how it felt.

FAQ: Questions I Hear Often
What languages do you speak?
I work fluently in English, Ukrainian, and Russian, and I'm currently learning Spanish. During a session I naturally switch to whatever language feels most comfortable for you — including mixed-language family shoots where several are spoken at once.
Do you help with posing, or do I need to know what to do?
You'll never be left standing there wondering what to do with your hands. I direct every movement, every angle, and even the emotion to hold - so all you have to do is show up and be present. No experience needed; most of my clients come with none.
My partner isn't comfortable in front of the camera.
That's completely normal - most people aren't, especially partners who "don't do photos." My whole approach is built to take that pressure off: no stiff posing, just a relaxed, guided experience. It's the same way I run family sessions, and partners almost always end up surprised by how easy it felt.
I don't have a "model" figure - will the photos still look good?
Yes, and this is one of the worries I hear most. I don't photograph a single "ideal" body type - I photograph real people, and my job is to find and highlight what's beautiful about you specifically. The right light, direction, and styling matter far more than measurements. You'll see this across my women's portrait sessions.
Do you travel outside Valencia?
Yes - regularly. Beyond Valencia I shoot across the Costa Blanca and travel elsewhere in Spain and abroad for booked sessions. Travel logistics and any costs are simple to sort out when we plan your shoot.
